My visual journal of September 24th, 2024.

Hamer had a great time last weekend. She earned a small allowance by taking out the rubbish, played a makeup game in the Apple Store, bought her mom a milk tea, and treated herself to some toys and other items using her own money.

I manually created a one-inch portrait for Hamer using my iPhone to take the photo, removed the background with Remove.bg, added a new background in the Keynote app, and cropped the photo using the Preview app. Hamer loves it.

Hamer received her Summer, Autumn, and Winter safety hats from school. I carefully stitched her name tags onto them by hand, one by one.

A lovely day in the friend’s house with friends. We were all surprised by Luobo’s talent on recognizing Chinese words.

I didn’t realize that we had bought so many books. It didn’t look like much when they were on the bookshelf.

I hung around The Temple of Earth and Me 2024 Beijing Book Fair this afternoon. I found some interesting books and can’t stop buying when I came to the foreign bookstore. Xiaoyan and Hamer came to find me after they finished dining together.

Hamer had one awesome “Bangbang” coupon and five keep going “Jiayou”cards. These were from the teacher to acknowledge her good behavior and performance at school.

The newly released ChatGPT models share their thoughts when answering questions. The ChatGPT o1-preview model takes more time and provides more detailed responses than the o1-mini.

During these two weeks of primary school, I noticed that they need to study very hard because Hamer felt tired and went to sleep early on her own every day.

After a delicious breakfast, I took Hamer to school and then rushed to the office to attend a meeting.

I made this syllabus for Hamer, but it didn’t meet her expectations because she wanted a simple table.

I concentrated on work over the past two days, and it made me feel good. Meanwhile, the three hours of virtual learning today made me cheerful, even though I didn’t communicate well during the breakout session.

I ran 3km this evening, a good start.

Hamer send the message to Xiaoyan this afternoon: “Mom, can I go to your home to take some toys to play with in the garden?“😀

Hamer had a wonderful Sunday with her classmate and teacher. They had lunch at the teacher’s house, applied makeup at home, played in the garden, and had dinner at the teacher’s house again. Meanwhile, Xiaoyan and I stayed home to watch TV.
